I don’t know about you, but every time I see a dog, I have to stop, ask if I can pet him/her, and talk to the owner about the dog’s name, breed, age, demeanour, etc….I love all types of animals and I cannot help but to get some cuddles when/if possible 🙂
Today, on my way home, I met Oscar 🙂 A therapy dog who visits students at the end of the semester or during the exam season. He provides them with love, comfort, and much needed cuddles, and helps them de-stress. Although, I am no longer a student and do not stress about exams, When I saw Oscar, I stopped, talked to his human mom, and got some sweet cuddles from him. He was a sweetheart, full of love, and ready to lean against you (his way of hugging I guess!) as soon as you approached him. Oscar, I adore you!!
Animals are so precious! They are full of life. They do not discriminate and they do not judge. If you love them and give them attention, they will love you and give you attention back. I am thankful that there are sweet and amazing therapy animals out there who come to our rescue when we need some peace, love, companionship, comfort, and relaxation in our life.
I loved my time with Oscar, even though it was very brief. While leaving him, I could not help but to think of this quote from the movie Marley & Me:
“A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes, or designer clothes. A water logged stick will do just fine. A dog doesn’t care if you’re rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he’ll give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?” – John Grogan, Marley & Me
